Libera chiama il Murialdo risponde

I ragazzi dei gruppi giovanili dell'Oratorio hanno aderito al progetto di Libera “Lenzuoliamo Palermo”.

"Libera. Associazioni, nomi e numeri contro le mafie" è un’associazione di promozione sociale presieduta da don Luigi Ciotti, fondata nel 1995 con l’intento di sollecitare la società civile nella lotta alla criminalità organizzata e di favorire la creazione di una comunità alternativa alle mafie stesse.

Ogni anno, dal 1996, il 21 marzo, primo giorno di primavera, Libera celebra la Giornata della Memoria e dell’impegno in ricordo delle vittime innocenti delle mafie. Quest’anno verrà celebrata a Palermo e per l’occasione verranno preparati dei lenzuoli da tutta Italia dedicati alle molte vittime di mafia del nostro paese. Saranno in tutto 1011 lenzuoli da un metro, tanti quanti sono i nomi delle vittime innocenti delle mafie censite sinora.

Ognuno dei nostri tre gruppi giovani ha adottato una vittima di mafia e ha deciso di dedicargli il proprio lenzuolo.

Domenico Demaio: sindaco di Platì ucciso a 46 anni per aver sequestrato delle terre ad una famiglia mafiosa che le occupava abusivamente.

Angelo Biscardi: politico che si batté contro i criminali che volevano aggiudicarsi illecitamente i concorsi per la ricostruzione delle case abbattute dal terremoto dell’Irpinia.

Alfredo Àgosta: carabiniere ucciso a colpi di fuoco a soli 48 anni perché indagava sui clan mafiosi a Catania.

In occasione della festa della famiglia del 26 gennaio i ragazzi hanno presentato alla comunità i loro lenzuoli alla presenza di David Gentili, Presidente della Commissione consiliare Antimafia del comune di Milano.

Il 21 marzo sarà possibile vedere tutti i lenzuoli in memoria delle vittime raccolti in un’unica bandiera contro la mafia che sfilerà per le vie di Palermo.

Come diceva Paolo Borsellino: “Se la gioventù le negherà il consenso, anche l'onnipotente e misteriosa mafia svanirà come un incubo.”

Together the Murialdine Schools Open Their Doors to the Civilization of Love

The start of a new school year always brings with it a special burst of energy, joy, and deep hope. This September, in countless schools and educational centers across the Murialdina network around the world—from Europe to Latin America, and to communities on the African continent such as Ghana and Nigeria— the bell rings once again . From classrooms in Italy to those in Quito and Ambato, Ecuador, to centers in Spain and all the institutions resuming classes in these weeks, thousands of students, teachers, and educators are coming together to embark on a new shared journey. The true value of this moment lies in the power of concrete collaboration. None of our schools walks alone: each one is a vital node in a single, large global organism that draws its strength from the charismatic pedagogy of the Congregation of St. Joseph and the legacy of St. Leonard Murialdo. Working together allows us to transcend geographical boundaries, share best practices, and cultivate everywhere a welcoming “family spirit” where every student feels valued, heard, and supported. In the Murialdian vision, educational and professional excellence always goes hand in hand with human and spiritual care. This richness is also reflected in the beauty of the world’s diverse rhythms: while in many countries classes resume in September, in other nations of the Southern Hemisphere—such as Brazil, Argentina, or Chile—the school year follows the calendar year, beginning at the start of the year. This diversity of times and seasons ensures an ideal continuity of prayer, educational commitment, and presence alongside young people throughout all twelve months, at any latitude. Starting anew today means renewing our shared commitment: “to educate hearts in order to foster the Civilization of Love.” In a rapidly changing global context, our challenge remains to form Christian citizens who are aware and compassionate, capable of building the future with responsibility and hope. To all the students, families, teachers, and the entire community of the great Murialdina Family, we extend our warmest wishes for a school year full of discoveries and achievements attained together.

International Meeting of Josephite Formators

Under the coordination of General Councilor Fr. Jacob Yeboah (C.S.J.), formators from Brazil (Fr. Geraldo Canever, Fr. Elves Bessa), the Central Delegation (Fr. Maximo Mantija, Fr. Shine John), Ecuador/Colombia (Fr. Julio Cesar Hernandez), the African Vice-Province (Fr. Arnaud Aniou), and India (Fr. Eugine Juliyan, Fr. Soos Antony Deeman). Other formators, unable to attend in person, are following the proceedings online. The goal of the meeting is to reinvigorate the initial formation of the Josephines of Murialdo, keeping their roots firmly planted in the Charism but with the necessary openness to future developments. At the heart of the program is the update of the Josephine Formation Guidelines for the entire Congregation. To all of them we extend our sincere thanks and our best wishes for fruitful work in the serious and profound accompaniment of our candidates and aspirants to the Josephine Religious Life.
