Il Superiore Generale a San Giuseppe Vesuviano: tra Estate Ragazzi e profumo di santità

Dal 5 al 7 giugno 2026, la comunità e l'opera di San Giuseppe Vesuviano (Napoli) hanno vissuto giorni di grazia straordinaria grazie alla visita del Superiore Generale, p. Nadir Poletto (C.S.J.). È stato un fine settimana intenso, caratterizzato dall'incontro fraterno con i confratelli, dall'abbraccio appassionato con la comunità parrocchiale e dall'avvio pieno di energia dell'Estate Ragazzi, che ha riempito il centro giovanile con i sorrisi e la vivacità di tantissimi bambini.

La visita ha toccato un momento di profonda commozione ed eccezionale rilievo carismatico quando si è affrontato il tema sulla beatificazione di padre Gino Ceschelli, indimenticato sacerdote giuseppino.

Chi era p. Gino Ceschelli?
Nato a San Donà di Piave nel 1902, padre Gino ha incarnato a San Giuseppe Vesuviano – dove ha speso gran parte della sua vita fino alla nascita al Cielo nel 1982 – il volto più bello del carisma murialdino. Direttore dell'allora scuola artigianale, parroco e superiore della comunità, è stato un vero "padre dei poveri".
Durante i tragici bombardamenti della Seconda Guerra Mondiale e l'eruzione del Vesuvio del 1944, non abbandonò mai il suo gregge, trasformando l'oratorio in un rifugio. Padre Gino è ricordato da tutti per la sua preghiera incessante, la profonda umiltà e la totale dedizione agli ultimi e ai giovani.

Parlare oggi dell'avvio ufficiale della sua causa di beatificazione, proprio mentre i cortili si riempiono dei canti dell'Estate Ragazzi, ci ricorda che la santità murialdina non è un concetto astratto, ma una realtà viva che continua a fiorire nel servizio quotidiano e nell'amore verso i più piccoli.

Together the Murialdine Schools Open Their Doors to the Civilization of Love

The start of a new school year always brings with it a special burst of energy, joy, and deep hope. This September, in countless schools and educational centers across the Murialdina network around the world—from Europe to Latin America, and to communities on the African continent such as Ghana and Nigeria— the bell rings once again . From classrooms in Italy to those in Quito and Ambato, Ecuador, to centers in Spain and all the institutions resuming classes in these weeks, thousands of students, teachers, and educators are coming together to embark on a new shared journey. The true value of this moment lies in the power of concrete collaboration. None of our schools walks alone: each one is a vital node in a single, large global organism that draws its strength from the charismatic pedagogy of the Congregation of St. Joseph and the legacy of St. Leonard Murialdo. Working together allows us to transcend geographical boundaries, share best practices, and cultivate everywhere a welcoming “family spirit” where every student feels valued, heard, and supported. In the Murialdian vision, educational and professional excellence always goes hand in hand with human and spiritual care. This richness is also reflected in the beauty of the world’s diverse rhythms: while in many countries classes resume in September, in other nations of the Southern Hemisphere—such as Brazil, Argentina, or Chile—the school year follows the calendar year, beginning at the start of the year. This diversity of times and seasons ensures an ideal continuity of prayer, educational commitment, and presence alongside young people throughout all twelve months, at any latitude. Starting anew today means renewing our shared commitment: “to educate hearts in order to foster the Civilization of Love.” In a rapidly changing global context, our challenge remains to form Christian citizens who are aware and compassionate, capable of building the future with responsibility and hope. To all the students, families, teachers, and the entire community of the great Murialdina Family, we extend our warmest wishes for a school year full of discoveries and achievements attained together.

International Meeting of Josephite Formators

Under the coordination of General Councilor Fr. Jacob Yeboah (C.S.J.), formators from Brazil (Fr. Geraldo Canever, Fr. Elves Bessa), the Central Delegation (Fr. Maximo Mantija, Fr. Shine John), Ecuador/Colombia (Fr. Julio Cesar Hernandez), the African Vice-Province (Fr. Arnaud Aniou), and India (Fr. Eugine Juliyan, Fr. Soos Antony Deeman). Other formators, unable to attend in person, are following the proceedings online. The goal of the meeting is to reinvigorate the initial formation of the Josephines of Murialdo, keeping their roots firmly planted in the Charism but with the necessary openness to future developments. At the heart of the program is the update of the Josephine Formation Guidelines for the entire Congregation. To all of them we extend our sincere thanks and our best wishes for fruitful work in the serious and profound accompaniment of our candidates and aspirants to the Josephine Religious Life.
