Ex allievo del patronato Leone XIII l'arcivescovo vicentino Agostino Marchetto eletto tra i nuovi cardinali

Breve Profilo biografico del nuovo Card. Agostino Marchetto – Vatican New

Per Papa Francesco, monsignor Agostino Marchetto è il più grande ermeneuta del Concilio Vaticano II. Nasce a Vicenza il 28 agosto 1940, frequenta le scuole del Patronato Leone XIII di Vicenza, quindi entra in Seminario e viene ordinato presbitero presso la cattedrale di Vicenza il 28 giugno 1964. Il 31 agosto 1985 viene nominato arcivescovo titolare di Astigi con incarico di nunzio apostolico in Madagascar e Mauritius. Il 7 dicembre 1990 viene trasferito come nunzio apostolico in Tanzania, mentre il 18 maggio 1994 come nunzio apostolico in Bielorussia. Il 6 novembre 2001 Giovanni Paolo II lo nomina segretario del Pontificio consiglio della pastorale per i migranti e gli itineranti. Il 25 agosto 2010 al compimento del 70 anno di età si ritira dall’incarico per dedicarsi allo studio, in particolare dell’ermeneutica del Concilio Vaticano II. Parla, oltre all’italiano, il francese, l’inglese e lo spagnolo.

Together the Murialdine Schools Open Their Doors to the Civilization of Love

The start of a new school year always brings with it a special burst of energy, joy, and deep hope. This September, in countless schools and educational centers across the Murialdina network around the world—from Europe to Latin America, and to communities on the African continent such as Ghana and Nigeria— the bell rings once again . From classrooms in Italy to those in Quito and Ambato, Ecuador, to centers in Spain and all the institutions resuming classes in these weeks, thousands of students, teachers, and educators are coming together to embark on a new shared journey. The true value of this moment lies in the power of concrete collaboration. None of our schools walks alone: each one is a vital node in a single, large global organism that draws its strength from the charismatic pedagogy of the Congregation of St. Joseph and the legacy of St. Leonard Murialdo. Working together allows us to transcend geographical boundaries, share best practices, and cultivate everywhere a welcoming “family spirit” where every student feels valued, heard, and supported. In the Murialdian vision, educational and professional excellence always goes hand in hand with human and spiritual care. This richness is also reflected in the beauty of the world’s diverse rhythms: while in many countries classes resume in September, in other nations of the Southern Hemisphere—such as Brazil, Argentina, or Chile—the school year follows the calendar year, beginning at the start of the year. This diversity of times and seasons ensures an ideal continuity of prayer, educational commitment, and presence alongside young people throughout all twelve months, at any latitude. Starting anew today means renewing our shared commitment: “to educate hearts in order to foster the Civilization of Love.” In a rapidly changing global context, our challenge remains to form Christian citizens who are aware and compassionate, capable of building the future with responsibility and hope. To all the students, families, teachers, and the entire community of the great Murialdina Family, we extend our warmest wishes for a school year full of discoveries and achievements attained together.

International Meeting of Josephite Formators

Under the coordination of General Councilor Fr. Jacob Yeboah (C.S.J.), formators from Brazil (Fr. Geraldo Canever, Fr. Elves Bessa), the Central Delegation (Fr. Maximo Mantija, Fr. Shine John), Ecuador/Colombia (Fr. Julio Cesar Hernandez), the African Vice-Province (Fr. Arnaud Aniou), and India (Fr. Eugine Juliyan, Fr. Soos Antony Deeman). Other formators, unable to attend in person, are following the proceedings online. The goal of the meeting is to reinvigorate the initial formation of the Josephines of Murialdo, keeping their roots firmly planted in the Charism but with the necessary openness to future developments. At the heart of the program is the update of the Josephine Formation Guidelines for the entire Congregation. To all of them we extend our sincere thanks and our best wishes for fruitful work in the serious and profound accompaniment of our candidates and aspirants to the Josephine Religious Life.
