LE SUORE MURIALDINE A MABESSENEH (SIERRA LEONE)

Abbiamo inaugurato la nostra presenza in Sierra Leone, a Mabesseneh, presso Lunsar, 
il 1° maggio 2021 con una solenne concelebrazione. La santa messa è stata presieduta 
dal provinciale p. Augustine Lebbie insieme a otto sacerdoti giuseppini. 
Erano presenti le autorità locali, i fedeli della parrocchia di san Leonardo Murialdo e 
gli studenti. Al termine della celebrazione eucaristica, la signora caposcuola di 
Mabesseneh ci ha accolto con un rito particolare per esprimere quanto questo 
popolo veda la presenza delle nostre sorelle come una benedizione del Signore 
per questa comunità. Attualmente siamo in tre: Sr. Amparo Guzmán, Superiora, 
Sr. Vicky Antony e sr. Nirmala Simiyonraj.
Siamo felici di essere qui e di poter testimoniare intorno a noi l'amore infinito, 
misericordioso e personale di Dio. I Padri Giuseppini ci hanno affidato 
un Asilo Nido “Nadino preschool”, la catechesi e la pastorale giovanile e 
familiare in parrocchia. Abbiamo iniziato a visitare le famiglie, a fare 
la catechesi e anche ad aiutare alcuni studenti (vicini di casa) nella 
preparazione per gli esami finali. E' un'esperienza unica e bellissima nella 
quale possiamo mettere in pratica il carisma di San Leonardo Murialdo 
nel nostro apostolato. È una grande gioia stare con i bambini che hanno 
davvero bisogno di noi.

«Mi hanno aperto il loro cuore»: la storia di Khan e l'accoglienza Giuseppina

An article published by Caritas Rome tells the story of Khan Gony, a young man who arrived in Italy from South Sudan through the UNICORE university corridors. After earning his master’s degree at Luiss, Khan found himself facing a period of uncertainty without a job or a place to live. He was welcomed into the community of the Giuseppini del Murialdo in Rome for about two years. This was a precious time during which he not only perfected his Italian and forged bonds of brotherhood with the priests, but was also able to lay the groundwork for his family’s self-sufficiency. Today, Khan lives in a rented home, works, and has even started a small computer center where he offers free training to those who need it most, thus giving back the kindness he received. “Here, I didn’t just find a place to stay. I found a family. I’ll tell my children that in Italy I met people who opened their hearts to a refugee, changing the future of an entire family». Un sì per tutta la vita: concluso il Corso in preparazione ai Voti Perpetui

The month of intensive formation in preparation for Perpetual Profession came to a joyful conclusion for eight young Josephite brothers, who are ready to consecrate their lives forever to the Congregation of St. Joseph. Accompanying the young brothers on this fundamental journey was the General Councilor for Initial Formation, Father Jacob Yeboah. The participants spent a month in Italy following in the footsteps of our founder, Saint Leonard Murialdo, to experience and breathe in firsthand the roots of our charism. During these weeks, the brothers engaged in a rich program of reflection: from the history of the Congregation to the new educational challenges that await us in the future of our mission with young people around the world.
