TRE ANNI DELLA BEATIFICAZIONE DI PADRE GIOVANNI SCHIAVO

Personalità di grande rilievo, per le doti umane e per la profonda spiritualità che lo animava. Degno figlio del Murialdo, missionario in Brasile, fondò nuove opere a favore dei ragazzi della strada. Amante della natura, delicato nel tratto, era un educatore attento ai bisogni dei giovani poveri. Vero padre per tutti, aveva la forza dei santi, l’abbandono assoluto nelle mani di Dio e nella sua Provvidenza.

BEATIFICAZIONE DI PADRE GIOVANNI SCHIAVO

Padre Schiavo è stato il formatore delle prime generazioni di murialdine in Brasile, in sintonia con

le direttive di padre Luigi Casaril, fondatore, e di madre Maria Ellena, la prima superiora generale,

tracciando per le suore un cammino solido di vita consacrata fondata sull’amore a Dio e al prossimo,

vissuta in umiltà e carità, nella dedizione ai giovani poveri e alle famiglie.

La sua fama di santità si è diffusa quando era ancora in vita. Fu sepolto nel piccolo cimitero

delle Suore Murialdine a Fazenda Souza e la sua tomba da subito divenne luogo di preghiera.

Innumerevoli le grazie ricevute per sua intercessione.

Il 14 dicembre 2015 Papa Francesco ha promulgato il decreto sull’eroicità delle virtù di Padre Schiavo.

Il 1° dicembre 2016 è stato approvato il miracolo della guarigione di Juvelino Cara.

Il 28 ottobre 2017 è stato beatificato.

An article published by Caritas Rome tells the story of Khan Gony, a young man who arrived in Italy from South Sudan through the UNICORE university corridors. After earning his master’s degree at Luiss, Khan found himself facing a period of uncertainty without a job or a place to live. He was welcomed into the community of the Giuseppini del Murialdo in Rome for about two years. This was a precious time during which he not only perfected his Italian and forged bonds of brotherhood with the priests, but was also able to lay the groundwork for his family’s self-sufficiency. Today, Khan lives in a rented home, works, and has even started a small computer center where he offers free training to those who need it most, thus giving back the kindness he received. “Here, I didn’t just find a place to stay. I found a family. I’ll tell my children that in Italy I met people who opened their hearts to a refugee, changing the future of an entire family». Un sì per tutta la vita: concluso il Corso in preparazione ai Voti Perpetui

The month of intensive formation in preparation for Perpetual Profession came to a joyful conclusion for eight young Josephite brothers, who are ready to consecrate their lives forever to the Congregation of St. Joseph. Accompanying the young brothers on this fundamental journey was the General Councilor for Initial Formation, Father Jacob Yeboah. The participants spent a month in Italy following in the footsteps of our founder, Saint Leonard Murialdo, to experience and breathe in firsthand the roots of our charism. During these weeks, the brothers engaged in a rich program of reflection: from the history of the Congregation to the new educational challenges that await us in the future of our mission with young people around the world. L'Istituto Secolare Murialdo e la leadership nella vita consacrata secolare

La 'Conferência Nacional dos Institutos Seculares do Brasil' (CNISB) ha celebrato la sua XXVIII Assembleia Geral, un appuntamento segnato da momenti di formazione, preghiera e comunione ecclesiale sotto il tema della sinodalità. L'incontro ha visto la rielezione di Moema Rodrigues Muricy, dell'Istituto Secolare Murialdo (ISMUR), come Presidente della CNISB per il quadriennio 2026–2030. Che cos'è un Istituto Secolare? I membri degli Istituti Secolari vivono una forma vocazionale unica e profetica all'interno della Chiesa: sono persone consacrate che vivono e lavorano nel mondo quotidiano (nelle famiglie, nelle professioni e nella società civile) senza indossare un abito religioso o vivere in comunità di vita comune. Santificano le realtà temporali dal di dentro, portando il Vangelo e i valori del Regno di Dio nei luoghi di lavoro, nelle istituzioni e nelle strutture sociali. L'Istituto Secolare Murialdo (ISMUR) Inserito pienamente nella Famiglia del Murialdo, l'ISMUR testimonia il carisma di San Leonardo Murialdo con lo stile della secolarità. I suoi membri incarnano l'amore misericordioso di Dio e la dedizione all'educazione e alla promozione dei giovani e dei più deboli, rimanendo immersi nelle professioni e nei contesti della vita di tutti i giorni. La rielezione di Moema Rodrigues Muricy alla guida della CNISB è motivo di gioia e di gratitudine per tutta la Famiglia del Murialdo, poiché riconosce il contributo fecondo e la vitalità del nostro carisma al servizio della Chiesa e della società intera. Un augurio di buon lavoro a Moema e al nuovo Consiglio della CNISB per questo nuovo mandato al servizio della vita consacrata secolare!
